Arguing Against The Unthinkable

The things we see only in horror movies happen to non-human animals in real life everyday. And we are the ones doing those things to them. Almost every argument I have ever been presented in support of being able to do what we want to animals has been weak not only in moral credibility but also in consistency and logic. When it really comes down to it, there is no argument needed to prove that torture should not be inflicted on completely innocent non-human individuals.

"We have enslaved the rest of animal creation and have treated our distant cousins in fur and feathers so badly that beyond doubt, if they were to formulate a religion, they would depict the devil in human form." ~William Ralph Inge
